Grounding

What would life be like without Grounding? We would be stumbling all over the place. Grounding is an essential part of our daily lives as it provides a sense of stability and security. Imagine if the Earth had zero gravity like Outer Space. We would be floating around aimlessly. Although this may seem like an extreme example, grounding oneself follows a similar principle. Grounding not only provides stability, but it also affects our health, slows down the aging process, and gives our bodies the essential elements it needs to live. In essence, Grounding keeps us healthy and heals us when we are sick. The Earth provides us with essential electrons that help us maintain ourselves. However, with the prevalence of comfortable sneakers, elegant high-heeled shoes, and artificial flooring, many of us no longer have a reason to touch the Earth. Personally, I love the feeling of cool grass between my toes. So, let us take a closer look at Grounding and understand its true meaning.

What is grounding?

Grounding is the act of connecting yourself to the earth by absorbing its negatively charged electrons. This is a physical process that can be done by taking a walk barefoot on the ground, strolling through a forest, or simply walking around the garden. It doesn't matter where you go as long as you are barefoot. I'm not sure about you, but I like to avoid areas with too many thorns for a painless experience. Although you may not feel the effects immediately, grounding sends electrons through your body, which is beneficial for your health over time.

How does Grounding Work?

In a nutshell, when you ground yourself, electrons move from higher electrical charges to lower electrical charges. When sunlight reaches the Earth, it increases the flow of electrons through your body, provided that you are grounded. When this happens, the Earth's electrons receive a power boost from a higher source of energy, such as the sun or static electricity. Once these electrons are charged, they move to the electrons in your body that have a lower charge, which eliminates inflammation and benefits your day-night sleep cycle.

Why is Grounding Effective?

When you ground yourself, you draw the Earth's magnetic pulses and electro fields into your feet. When this happens, our bodies become charged up like "biological batteries." This is a great way to get rid of those lethargic energies that are making you procrastinate on that boring work project. However, in order to get that supercharge you need to get the dishes done, you first have to be grounded to Earth. Did you know that electron deficiency can lead to chronic illness? That's quite shocking in my eyes, but it motivated me to work on my grounding. Our bodies need magnetic pulses and electrons from the Earth to stay healthy. Living a predominantly indoor life will likely lead to an electron deficiency that may take a toll on your health.

How Can Grounding Benefit My Health?

As we have established, grounding yourself to the earth allows electrons to flow into your body. These electrons benefit your body in profound ways. Let's take a look at some of the health benefits of grounding:

1. It improves the quality of sleep by regulating cortisol levels, which in turn improves the health and synchronicity of circadian cycles

2. It can relieve pain and lower stress levels

3. Grounding can also shift the autonomic nervous system from sympathetic activation to parasympathetic activation

4. It benefits heart rate variability and speeds up wound recovery

5. It reduces blood viscosity

6. Grounding acts as an antioxidant that never runs out

7. It builds up electrons and gets rid of inflammation

8. It neutralizes free radicals that are responsible for cellular injury and aging

9. It increases the potential of red blood cells by 270%

Grounding Techniques

Now that we have a better understanding of what grounding is, how it works, and how it benefits our overall health, let's take a look at some effective grounding techniques:

#1. Place your bare feet on the ground

#2. Go for a walk in the garden without shoes

#3. Lie down on the grass and allow your entire body, including your palms, to touch the earth

#4. Go for a swim in the ocean to connect with nature

To Wrap it Up:

No one likes to get their feet dirty, but it's much healthier than you may think. The modern invention of stylish shoes has caused many of us to lose touch with our grounding. Since most people don't know that grounding is essential to their lives, they don't get the electrons that their bodies need. Take a barefoot stroll or catch a tan on the beach sand with your palms facing down. You'll be amazed at what grounding can do for you!
